No posts, but still here

Hi, out there, I'm still here, just not doing much quilting. Little girls need dolly dresses, and I'm moving things about, trying to make room for the quilting machine at my house. My partner wants me to buy her out or sell the machine, so I finally decided to crowd it in here. Nolting is bringing 12' table parts to trade out for my 14' when they come to MQS in May. It will be used in the hands-on classes the first two days, and DH and I will drive over in the truck and trade out the pieces when they take the tables out, and move the whole thing up here. It's a lot of work for DH, but he loves me very much and wants me to be happy. Yes, he is a keeper!

I had a bit more work on my left knee today. It was holding up the rehab on my new right knee. Maybe this will make them come out even (and good!). The hardest part is being off arthritis meds for the week before surgery. I'm back on them tonight, so the worst is over!!

I'm really looking forward to having the Nolting here, on the main floor, so I can stand-up quilt a bit, then sit down piece a bit. It should make both of them easier.

Help with Layout , please

I'm not sure how blogger will put these, but let's call the far left one - A, then b, c, d, as they go down. I could use some help deciding on a layout for these blocks. They are happy blocks with train fabric in the middle, and the border fabric is also trains. There is a border for the bottom, I just couldn't reach it very well. It's a donation quilt for the V&T symposium - a group trying to rebuild the Virgina and Truckee Railroad, but they also are friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum. We go in a couple of weeks, so I need to get this one finished. I can't decide on a layout. If you would leave a comment on which one you like best, I would appreciate it. A Christmas wall hanging

This is the first fusible project I made. It was about 1994, and I didn't know to be concerned about how it turned out. The fused clouds are really heavy, and of course quilting didn't do anything for them as they are so stiff. I hand quilted the upper sky, trying to give definition. It was "birthed" rather that bound, so the edges remain puffy. Even with all that, I love this angel. My DIL's friend fell in love with it, and wanted one so badly, that for the next Christmas I made her one in teals. She loved it. Glacier Star with extension, or 488 geese later. . . .

The top is finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It needs a good pressing, then ?? I don’t know if I want to try to quilt it myself. I keep thinking of quilting designs, but I’m not sure I have the skill to carry them out. I don’t want to mess it up after 488 flying geese! If you look at the picture closely, it looks like the left side is brighter, almost like stained glass. It’s because of where it is placed in the living room, the only place large enough for the picture. Here’s the un-cropped photo. The DGK’s had moved all the furniture to the walls so they could build a fort. Works for me!    Happy Quilting, Becky
