Design Wall Monday, but not my work

Since this was a rest week from vacation, I didn’t do any sewing for myself. I did, however, help my friend load a quilt and quilt it on Black Bart. She does an exceptional job of machine embroidery, and these giraffes are simply adorable. She used a plush fabric for the back, and I love how the quilting shows on it. We used Superior So Fine for the top, and Bottom Line in the bobbin, both white. It just disappears into the applique as it was a plush fabric as well. We used the Circle Lord Cosmos boards on it.

This pattern is so lovely, it reminded me of dandelion heads. The darks really make this quilt.

I would love to know what the pattern is called, or if I could buy the pattern?

those giraffes are just wayyyyyy too cute! I love the quilt pattern. Just perfect for that quilt. And yes the bottom line sinks in so wonderfully doesn't! Beautiful.

Help with Layout , please

I'm not sure how blogger will put these, but let's call the far left one - A, then b, c, d, as they go down. I could use some help deciding on a layout for these blocks. They are happy blocks with train fabric in the middle, and the border fabric is also trains. There is a border for the bottom, I just couldn't reach it very well. It's a donation quilt for the V&T symposium - a group trying to rebuild the Virgina and Truckee Railroad, but they also are friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum. We go in a couple of weeks, so I need to get this one finished. I can't decide on a layout. If you would leave a comment on which one you like best, I would appreciate it. A Christmas wall hanging

This is the first fusible project I made. It was about 1994, and I didn't know to be concerned about how it turned out. The fused clouds are really heavy, and of course quilting didn't do anything for them as they are so stiff. I hand quilted the upper sky, trying to give definition. It was "birthed" rather that bound, so the edges remain puffy. Even with all that, I love this angel. My DIL's friend fell in love with it, and wanted one so badly, that for the next Christmas I made her one in teals. She loved it. Glacier Star with extension, or 488 geese later. . . .

The top is finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It needs a good pressing, then ?? I don’t know if I want to try to quilt it myself. I keep thinking of quilting designs, but I’m not sure I have the skill to carry them out. I don’t want to mess it up after 488 flying geese! If you look at the picture closely, it looks like the left side is brighter, almost like stained glass. It’s because of where it is placed in the living room, the only place large enough for the picture. Here’s the un-cropped photo. The DGK’s had moved all the furniture to the walls so they could build a fort. Works for me!    Happy Quilting, Becky
