Center finished

Glacier Star center from the pattern by Judy and Brad Niemeyer. Now for the nearly 300 flying geese for the extension corners that turn this on point and makes it about 96 inches square. I’m wishing I had used a lighter fabric for the center star. The quilt is brighter in person.  I don’t think there will be a next time.

Happy Quilting,

Becky

I have the pattern and the fabric for this quilt is going to be my major purchase at Hancocks of Paducah when I go in a couple weeks this year... Not sure about my colors yet... will wait to be inspired when I get there... in the meantime I will be at a retreat next week and I have a complete JN quilt cut out and plan to work on it at the retreat. Love her patterns

That quilt is beautiful. The thought of 300 more flying geese is a bit intimidating but it will look great.

You have done a great job on this! Mine is still in pieces, but I will work on it soon. I was unhappy with the tips of my inner spikes around the inner star and I have decided to use a pigma pen to color them darker so they will pop (I see you used a different color on your tips, but yours show!). Perhaps you could color or paint your inner star too!
It's just gorgeous!!! I've done her Hawaiian Star and have always planned to do this one but never got around to it. Her quilts are a long-time commitment!

An amazing job! The quilt is awesome. I would never have been able to do a thing like that.
Gorgeous!! Why no next time? (Said tongue in cheek.)

WOW! That is spectacular. Is it paper pieced? Certainly something to be super proud of. I think the fabric choices are lovely. Too bright and it would be overwhelming with all the detailed points and such. Maybe you can accent the center star with a subtle sparkle by using fancy quilting thread there or adding a few beads when you are done.

It is fabulous!!!!!!! And the colours are perfect, just the way they are. Every single element in the quilt shows up, and proclaim the amount of effort that went in to making it. I love this designer's quilts. Yours is a beauty.

I could stare at this quilt for hours! The center is just amazing. I love Judy N quilts, I've made 3 so far. Yours is just unbelievably gorgeous!!
A huge fan of Judy N patterns - this is awesome! Oh, I thing the center is perfect to bring out the flow of the outter piecing - just a quilt you could stare at for hours.
I love the swirly fabric you have going around the outside - it keeps your eyes moving. This is a beautiful quilt. I know of several people who have said, "There won't be a next time" but they seem to be bitten with the Judy N. bug and just keep trying more patterns of hers! :)
