Help with Layout , please

I'm not sure how blogger will put these, but let's call the far left one - A, then b, c, d, as they go down. I could use some help deciding on a layout for these blocks. They are happy blocks with train fabric in the middle, and the border fabric is also trains. There is a border for the bottom, I just couldn't reach it very well. It's a donation quilt for the V&T symposium - a group trying to rebuild the Virgina and Truckee Railroad, but they also are friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum. We go in a couple of weeks, so I need to get this one finished. I can't decide on a layout. If you would leave a comment on which one you like best, I would appreciate it. It is easier to see now that they are in small pictures, so I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
Happy Quilting,
Becky

Top right (second layout)is the best.

I like the one in the top right (with the diagonal layout) which ever one you decide on i am sure that it will be lovely!

I like B top right the best.

Becky, I like B, top right the best. It has a much more balanced layout than the other two. Kind of a "streak of lightning" pattern

Ann said...

I like both B & C, but with a slight preference for B (that's my engineer's brain trying to organize things in an orderly fashion, I think).

Loretta said...

I actually like the bottom right one best. I guess I like balance. The top right would be my second choice.

Jackie Russell said...

I vote for B.

Kim said...

I like D! ;-)

Personally, I like bottom left best. I like the crisscrossing yellows and blues, with the randomness of the whites and greens for interest. On the other hand, I would think railroaders would prefer top right. Obvious pattern and no crossing over which you wouldn't want with trains ;-)

Nancy said...

Have you tried moving the blue blocks around? My "eye" would prefer to have the blue blocks scattered rather than grouped together in any attempt at a pattern.

Sorry, that I am not much help.

From this new quilter, I am more drawn to the upper right.

I like the symmetrical one on the upper right the best of the 4. Am looking forward to meeting you and seeing your lovely quilt at the symposium.

Kiva said...

FYI: The symposium donations are for the benefit of the Friends of Nevada State Railroad Museum who use it to support the Museum's collection, e.g., the upkeep and acquisition of original V&T artifacts, like the Inyo and #25, as well as other artifacts about Nevada railroading.

The group that is rebuilding the railroad from Virginia City to Carson City is an independent government multi-county commission, the Nevada Commission for the Reconstruction of the V&T Railway, (NCRVTR). They have their own funding entities that are not associated with the Symposium or the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

Becky said...

Thanks for clarifying about the symposium. They are usually both presented at the symposium, so I just lumped them together.

B or C

Jeanne said...

Becky, I like both B and C. If I used the C layout, I would switch the end blocks in the 3rd row. Looks great whatever setting you choose.

JuJu said...

Becky, I vote for B, top right. Your back yard is beautiful ... we had a major draingage problem this spring also, took forever to get the drain line in and new patio poured!--Julia, NE

I really like the diagonal layout (B). with the train border make it look like railroad tracks to go on with it.

I really like B, more balanced

I like "B" - the diagonal rows.

But I don't think you can go wrong with any of them!

I think B works better. I suppose it looks more "planned".

When a trial is ready to begin, the bailiff calls potential jurors into the courtroom. If damages of $15,000 or less are claimed in the case, 11 jurors will be called, and if damages of more than $15,000 are claimed, 13 jurors will be called. The clerk or bailiff asks the potential jurors to stand, hold up their right hands, and swear or affirm that the will truthfully answer the questions about to be asked of them. If you are called as a potential juror, the judge will then tell you the names of the parties and their attorneys and briefly explain the nature of the case. The judge will ask if you are related to anyone involved in the case, have any financial interest or other interest in the outcome of the case, have formed or expressed an opinion, or have any personal bias or prejudice that might affect how you decide the case. If you don’t think you can make a fair and impartial decision for any reason, you should tell the judge at this time.

I like the top left one most. The expression on her face and the way she has the teddy-bear sitting and looking back at her gives me more to think about, and sets a more interesting mood.

I have based all of the pictures shown here, on the Rubik's Cube that I have. Your colors may be different or they may be on different sides. If this is the case you may have to do some mental juggling to follow along. When this process is finished the top of your cube will look like this:
